When I was young, I used to see my dog vomiting worms out from his month. I heard it also happens to human especially small kids. I had never experienced that before because I used to eat deworming medicine given by my parents.
Until recently, I saw a video from YouTube which shows the worms in our human stomach. Here is the video but honestly it is quite “disgusting”.
I only realize that it has been more than 5 years, I have not taken any deworming medicine. So I am so scared that those worms are actually inside my body now. Although I do not have any signs (e.g. itchiness in my anus), I decided to take up a deworming medicine and it is a local brand called “ZENTAL”.
How Do Common Worms Enter Our Body?
Common worms enter our body through 2 main ways:
- Contamination of food by worms eggs
- Penetration of our skin by worm larvae (I don’t know this can happen)
Common Types of Worm Infection
In Malaysia, the most common worm infection is whipworm, followed by roundworm, hookworm, pinworm, threadworm and tapeworm. The one we see from the video above looks to me like a roundworm. Threadworm and tapeworm are hard to kill and you need to take the ZENTAL medicine for 3 consecutive days.
I did take Zental for 3 consecutive days just to be safe because I don’t know what kind of worms that I have. I may have already free from worms, I really don’t know.
So, how often do you take deworming medicine? Do you aware, there could be worms in your stomach?

I don't even dare to watch that video..I gave my kids once a year.I can't find the deworming medicine here where I have to buy a lot when I was in m'sia and brought it here.Do we really have to take 3 consecutive days?I think I also have to take too because honestly I never take this since I was a teenage.I think detox our get rid of those worms :)
yeah..i have taken zentel deworning medicine previously since i noticed that my digestion is not so well..i may thnk that there may have sth like white worm cause it...but after i take it, i found no worm in my shit..haha..it's my wrong thinking la..
zentel cost me rm5.90 per box with 2tablets only..damn expensive!!!

I"m surprise you can't get deworming medicne in Canada. I thought this is a very common thing? Perhaps everyone in Canada is free of worms. :)
Depends on what worms you want to kill, taking 3 consecutive days is to kill the Threadworms and Tapeworms. I believe Threadworms and Tapeworms are very rare but who knows right?

I thought worms help digestion in fact if I"m not mistaken. Ya, honestly I do the same too. I can't find it in my sh** too. I think if the worms are dead, you can't find it unless it is still alive and moving. :D

Hehehehe... Ya I forwarded it to MC-King first. Don't know when and how it comes out this topic during the tea time. They want me to buy Zental for them but it turns out quite expensive. So it ends up, I only buy for myself. :D

Hehehe... maybe if you are immune from worms, then no need to take. I guess sometimes if you're a very hygiene ppl, then maybe you won't have worms at all.

I have a problem getting up in morning means i sleep like anything and no 1 is able to wake me up in morning.. I consulted a doctor and she asked me to do blood test and then she has recommended me for a one time dose of worms and some other medicine which I'm taking..
I wanted to know from you is does because of worms you would not be able to wake up in morning.. Also, after taking that medicine there is some pain in my anus which i cannot discuss at home too :-( please help!!! n reply soon..
I honestly do not know whether it will cause you can't get up in the morning. I personally have not experienced that before. Based on my understanding, the most obvious symptoms is when your anus start to itchy. This indicates the possibility you have the worms.
Having said so, if you do not trust a doctor, you can always consult another doctors. Sometimes I do that too and you know what, yes different doctors says a different thing. If two or more doctors saying a same thing, most likely they're correct. Hope it helps.
Btw, when I took the medicine, my stomach is normal and no pain. Again, you may want to consult doctor again ...

I'm not sure if I'm appropriate to answer you that question. Anyway, you can just go to any pharmacy and ask for it.
If you have already eaten the medicine, I don't think you can see the worms in your shit. At least, I don't see it neither. :) Hope it helps.
right now i'm looking at a 10ml bottle of liquid zentel which i'm very hesitant to swallow..i wasn't dewormed since i was a kid. i'm worried worms will crawl out of my orifice or in my sh**. anyone heard of nasty experiences? sigh..just want to be prepared

Children are very much prone to worms and it is a big hazard as they can not eat well and their growth is also stunted because of this reason.There are medicines which should be regularly given to the children.
Yes, I agree. The recommendation is every quarter but I think once a year is good enough. :)

Any doctor will do or just go to the pharmacy to get the medicine.
The Amount of drinks and food we eat out....espcially in the Mamak...it has already made me feel that i should get zantel...coz you never know...
I guess Mamak food should be fine because they're cooked food and also still hot. These worms if it is there, it should be died already! lol
Cool drink or if you eat salad, there is such possibility. :) This is very depending on they prepare the food.
